E-moves Urban Culture Festival features music, dance, art, sport and specials.

Eindhoven is located in the most southern provence of Holland. It has a rich Hip Hop culture and does many things for the urban scene. If you are ever in the area you must visit Dynamo and seek out Angelo Martinus from Mad Skills! At E-moves they hosted the Holy Funk battle and just this past weekend Eindhoven hosted the first Dutch edition of Battle Bad and on July 25 and 26th Dynamo is hosting workshops with Mr Wiggles, do not miss your chance to learn from this Legend. On June 5- 6 and 7 it was the weekend of E-moves Festival. “A three-day Urban Culture Festival for and by everyone who loves hip hop, breakdance, street art and urban sports. See the world’s best in action during live performances and demonstrations, or improve your own skills during master classes and workshops by local heroes. Featuring (a.o.): the breakdance world championships World Bboy Classic, international graffiti festival Step in the Arena, and (new) hip hop festival Boogiedown.”

This is an event to put down in your agenda for next year! The weather is usually really nice and you can engulf in every aspect of the culture. There are artists from all over the world demonstrating and celebrating what they do best.

Of course World Bboy Classic is the main event for Step X Step. I got to see my newfound friends and family again just a month after visiting the qualifier in Doha, Qatar.  I was very pleased to see bboy Jaad and Hamza  get down (who was graciously filling in for Lil’ Salah).

During break Zamounda took the stage and these ladies…. make you feel good about life!  I got introduced to Keyz (Lafif) in Doha who was judging the event so it was really nice and surprising to witness him win the final with Nabil. Check out the amazing recap made by the Legits:

Only the very best in the breaking world qualify for this battle. The calibre and level of creativity is so high, it is a feast for your eyes and soul if you love dance. The new judging system is pretty solid and nobody goes home empty handed.
