Summer Dance Forever (Amsterdam) is ready to sweep everyone of their feet, quite literally as they start this irresistible event with the qualifier for Breaking Forever in Paradiso.

Later tonight the first six performances will  set the stage of the famous DeLaMar, on fire.  If you don’t see sparks with your eyes then I’m sure you will feel them internally.

Summer Dance Forever welcomes:

This innercity festival takes place from August 16 until 24 in the heart of Amsterdam at several locations, including: DeLaMar Theater, Melkweg, Paradiso, City Theatre, the Theatreschool and the Vondelpark Open Air Theatre. For a week these locations are the stage for dance performances, battles, workshops, masterclasses of the highest level where top dancers from around the world to go to participate. Forever offers her international audience nine days of spectacle and growing possibilities and opportunity to determine the state of affairs is the field of urban dance. The festival offers an overview of the greatest dancers of our time.

I will be hosting the Q&A for four of the performances after the show. She will dig a little deeper into the subject matter and the beautiful minds of their creators.

As always outside of the newly added Breaking Forever, dancers can battle it out in the styles: House, Hip Hop, Popping. For the lockers: do not fret because Ruben en Roche are coming to give you life with a show! Other showcases during the week Daughters of the Dragon, Bamboo Shoot and Kapela & Frankwa.

On Sunday there is a free seminar for the true supporters and students of the community. Topic: “The Art of Hip Hop theatre – from battle to theatre performance.” Panel: Meech (FR), Alex Spicey (CA) and Dirk Korell (Duitsland), Amy Secada (VS), Neguin (BR).
